The Lords goodness leads us every day. He is speaking to us, challenging us, and stretching us. He is committed to our growth and transformation. Sometimes just when you think you have arrived or made it, it is then that the Lord speaks to you and tells you that it’s time for a shift.
God tells us when to move.
We journey and migrate by the command of the Lord.
At the commandment of the Lord the children of Israel journeyed, and at the commandment of the Lord they pitched: as long as the cloud abode upon the tabernacle they rested in their tents.” Numbers 9:18
Israel’s migrations in the wilderness were based in the cloud and the fire.
And when the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, the children of Israel went onward in all their journeys:” Exodus 40:36
They could journey by day or night. When the pillar of cloud or fire lifted, they would follow. The cloud and fire represent the glory.
We must follow the glory.
Migration is connected to the glory.
And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night:” Exodus 13:21
Sometimes the cloud rested for up to a year. Sometimes the cloud moved in a few days.
Or whether it were two days, or a month, or a year, that the cloud tarried upon the tabernacle, remaining thereon, the children of Israel abode in their tents, and journeyed not: but when it was taken up, they journeyed.” Numbers 9:22
God caused them to journey where there was water. Water represents the flow of the Holy Spirit.
From thence they journeyed unto Gudgodah; and from Gudgodah to Jotbath, a land of rivers of waters.” Deuteronomy 10:7
God will move us to a place of water, life and refreshing.
The Holy Spirit will lead you by His presence. Trust the presence of the Lord. He is speaking to you! Become more aware of how He leads and speaks to you. The signs are sometime so evident, so simple and so clear.
Follow the Cloud and the Fire
But if the cloud were not taken up, then they journeyed not till the day that it was taken up.” Exodus 40:37
Not all migrations are the same, just like not all journeys are the same. Abram’s Migration was an individual journey. Jacob’s migration included himself and his family. Israel’s migration out of Egypt was corporate. God used Moses to deliver Israel from bondage and lead them to the promised land. God moved an entire nation to a new place. I have seen many churches migrate into new truths and revelation. Corporate migrations bring great blessings to many people. We need leaders like Moses to help us migrate corporately.
Moses was empowered by God to lead a great migration. He brought them out and he preserved them.
And by a prophet the Lord brought Israel out of Egypt, and by a prophet was he preserved.” Hosea 12:13
- Prophets help us migrate.
- Prophets help us get moving.
- Prophets can release a word that transitions us.
- Prophets can also help preserve us in our migrations.
And the children of Israel journeyed from Rameses to Succoth, about six hundred thousand on foot that were men, beside children.” Exodus 12:37
What a migration! Over a half-million people are moving to a new place. God would provide for them supernaturally. He would give them manna. He would cover them with a cloud. He would warm them with a canopy of fire. He would provide water from the rock.
God moves for you supernaturally when you migrate.
Moses built an altar during this migration. The place was called Jehovah Nissi. The Lord revealed himself as their banner, after they defeated the Amalekites.
And Moses built an altar, and called the name of it Jehovah Nissi:” Exodus 17:15
The Amalekites represent the enemies that attempt to attack you on your migration.
God will gives you victory over every enemy that attempts to attack you on your journey.
God is moving on your behalf.
In every season of your life, trust Him to open the path. He will bring peace as He speaks to you.
You must arise and take your journey. It is time to get up and go. Don’t sit and remain in the same place. The land will not come to you, you must go to the land. Go in and possess the land. God is with you!
