Throughout my ministry I have always taught on the power of words. When I was a young believer I began to study on why words matter and how God used decrees, declarations, prophecy to establish things that were not. Over the course of time I began to write my own confessions and see them come to reality. I have spend thousands of hours confessing scriptures, and teaching others about words. Words shape our world. If we can declare something we can have it. If we use our words to agree with who God says we are we will experience His power with great force in our life! You shall decree a thing, and it shall be established for you, and the light shall shine upon your ways. This is the word of the Lord from Job 22:28, and it carries power, authority, and prophetic force. The power of decrees is not in empty words or vain repetition, but in the alignment of your mouth with God’s Word and God’s will. Heaven responds to words spoken in faith. Angels move at the voice of His Word. The earth yields its increase when the righteous speak. Life and death are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it shall eat the fruit thereof (Proverbs 18:21) A decree is a decision made with finality. It is a judgment uttered with authority. It is not a wish, not a hope, not a maybe—it is a divine proclamation. Kings make decrees. Priests declare blessings. Prophets release the word of the Lord. And you, child of God, are king and priest unto God (Revelation 1:6), with the authority to speak and shift the atmosphere. Job 22:28 says, “You shall decree a thing.” Not someone else. You. This is personal. This is direct. This is your divine privilege. You don’t have to wait for someone else to speak over you—you carry the authority to declare over yourself, your house, your city, your season. Decree healing, and let it be established. Decree breakthrough, and watch the gates open. Decree peace, and let every storm be still. Decree provision, and see the ravens come and the jars overflow. “And it shall be established for you”—this is God’s guarantee. When your decree is aligned with His will, it is as if God Himself has spoken. Your decree becomes the trigger that pulls the invisible into the visible. Just as God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light, you can speak and call forth light, order, and blessing into dark and empty places. This is the hour to open your mouth wide, and God will fill it (Psalm 81:10). This is the season to speak with boldness and expectation. You are not voiceless. You are not powerless. The Word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart (Romans 10:8). Speak it. Decree it. Establish it. “And the light shall shine upon your ways”—every decree releases light. Light represents revelation, guidance, favor, and breakthrough. When you decree the Word, you push back darkness. When you open your mouth in faith, you release direction for your next step. Decrees illuminate the path and disarm the enemy. |
