The reward of a surrendered man or woman is favor and promotion. There are things that God has declared over your life that have already been set in motion in the realm of the spirit. You have to be patient and wait upon the Lord.
There is a due time for promotion and exaltation. The due time is the proper time, the right time, the appointed time, the time of visitation.
God has these times and seasons in His hand.
- God’s promotion can astound you, your friends, and your enemies.
- God’s promotion can be above all that you can ask or think.
- God’s promotion can lift you above defeat and failure.
- God’s promotion can lift you above limitations and barriers.
- God’s way is the proven way to riches, honor, and life.
Those who position themselves correctly can experience promotion and exaltation. There is a divine exaltation that is both miraculous and exhilarating!
In the life of every Believer, God has planned thrilling moments of exaltation.
One of the keys to reaching these moments is the gateway of HUMILITY and the recognition of God’s process of preparation.
Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time…”
1 Peter 5:6
The AMP says: ”Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God [set aside self-righteous pride], so that He may exalt you [to a place of honor in His service] at the appropriate time.”
To exalt means to promote, raise up, honor, and lift up. Exaltation is the promise of God to the humble. God recognizes and blesses the humble.
Humility is one of the most powerful traits that will move the hand of God. Humility is the master key to promotion and honor. Humility is the act of being modest, reverential, even politely submissive. It is the opposite of aggression, arrogance, pride, and vanity. On the surface, it appears to empty its holder of all power. However, on the contrary, it grants enormous power to its owner.
“Humility offers its owner complete freedom from the desire to impress, be right, or get ahead. Frustrations and losses have less impact on a humble ego and a humble person confidently receives opportunity to grow, improve, and reject society‘s labels. A humble life results in contentment, patience, forgiveness, and compassion.”

The Scriptures teach that God is the judge that puts down one and sets up another.
Promotion comes from God.
The key to moving in sync with God is being cloaked with humility. You must not esteem your ways higher than God’s ways. You must not esteem your own ideas above God’s plans. The enemy will do all that he can to get you to abandon the pathway of obedience and begin moving in your own direction.
Humility is absolute surrender.
The humble man or woman lays down pride, which is a fruit of the flesh. This can only happen by a journey into the realm of the spirit. This is one reason that humility, due time, and walking in the spirit, are connected.
My counsel is this: Live freely, animated and motivated by God’s Spirit. Then you won’t feed the compulsions of selfishness. For there is a root of sinful self-interest in us that is at odds with a free spirit, just as the free spirit is incompatible with selfishness. These two ways of life are contrary, so that you cannot live at times one way and at times another way according to how you feel on any given day. Why don’t you choose to be led by the Spirit and so escape the erratic compulsions of a law-dominated existence?”
Galatians 5:16-18 (MSG)
There is a freedom in the realm of the spirit. When we walk in the spirit:
- We are exercising spiritual muscles and disciplines.
- We are intentionally living a God-centered life.
- We are praying daily.
- We are studying the Word of God daily.
- We are activating and exercising our prophetic senses daily.
- We find ourselves living lives directed by the Spirit of God with His insight and guidance.
- We find ourselves in deep meditation of the Word of God and talking differently.
All of these things help to sharpen our spiritual senses and deny the lustful appetites of the flesh.
The stronger and more vibrant our walk of the spirit gets, the deeper our level of surrender goes.
This is not a work of the flesh, but a natural byproduct of a rich spiritual life.
Humility is an abandonment into the things of God.
The time for promotion is in God’s hands. Be a surrendered man or woman of God, and allow Him to exalt you in His time. Remember, He is working behind the scenes to release favor on your behalf!
