What To Do During A Crisis

What To Do During A Crisis 1

“The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer;  my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge,  my shield[b] and the horn[c] of my salvation, my stronghold, I called to the Lord, who is worthy of praise,  and I have been saved from my enemies” Psalm 18: 2-3

The enemy and demons hate when we call on the Lord as our deliverer. Under the Old Covenant the natural enemies of Israel and David were types of the spiritual enemies we deal with today. The old covenant was a book of types and shadows. When Israel went into the promised land and drove out the nations (Hittites, Girgashites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzite,  Hivites and the Jebusites) they were types of unclean spirits.

In the New Testament the Lord tells us that For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. (Ephesians 6:12)

Even though we can have natural enemies it is the spirit behind them that will motivate them to come against you and attempt to hurt you. When David speaks of His enemies he is really talking about spiritual attacks. David continues in Psalm 18 to talk about all the spirits that are surrounding him but David knew the power of prayer and supplication. The Psalmist is crying out to God for deliverance. He was surrounded by death, hell, and sorrow. David said “In my distress, I called upon the Lord. and His cry came before the Lord.”  The amazing thing about this Psalm is the response of God towards David’s cry. There is a prayer that will cause the enemy to flee regardless of how much the enemy resists and cries “Leave us alone”.

When we face challenging times we should not immediately look to resolve all of our issues with our logic. We need to cry out to God like David did. David’s cry promoted Jesus to anger and to destroy his enemies. If you have been in a hard season, a dry season, where it seems like nothing is moving for you and everything that surrounds you is held together by chaos and destruction. You need to PRAY and cry out to God!

Demons love to cry out and put a show when they are being confronted by the power of God. When God responds to His people He will destroy the enemies of those who He loves. There is a realm of prayer that you can call upon the Lord in your distress that promotes God to anger and God comes to your situation. David was pure in heart and God responded to David’s righteousness.

I want you to believe in God like David did. I want to decree over you that even though the enemy has come against you there is a prayer, and a cry that’s greater than the cry of demons and it your cry. The cry of the righteous. When you lift your voice unto the Lord He will respond to you with powerful manifestations just like He did in the past when His people called upon the Lord.

God is going to send His arrows, winds, storm, fire, hail stone and send His darkness to confuse your enemies and bring you into a large place. A place where you haven’t been before. This is God’s promise to us in His word. Let your cry be greater than the cry of all devils!
