The Treasuries of the Wind

The Treasuries of the Wind 1

Welcome to Impact University

When God speaks of His treasures, they are the things of value that are stored until the time they are needed. He speaks of the wind as one of His treasures. The wind is not the only thing God has in His treasury.

“One of God’s wonders of nature is the wind. All who live upon the earth have witnessed the wind from the gentle breeze, to the gale, to the whirlwind, to the most violent typhoon. God speaks much about the wind in His Word. The prophet Jeremiah gave us insight into the wind.” — George Kirkpatrick

Job also spoke of God’s treasures.

He causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth; he maketh lightnings for the rain; he bringeth the wind out of his treasuries.” Psalm 135:7

The ERV Translation says, “and he opens the doors to release the winds.” The wind is stored in a treasury until God has need of it.

The winds obeyed Christ.

God brings the wind out of His treasuries.

A treasury is a storehouse. God stores the wind and then releases it at an appointed time. A storehouse keeps something valuable until it is needed. Do you need the wind of the Spirit to blow in your life?

Ask God to open His storehouse and release the wind.

A treasury contains something valuable. We seldom realize the value of the wind. The English word treasure comes from the Old French tresor, both meaning, something of great worth

Then the Ruach Yahweh will come over you. You will be a different person while you prophesy with them.”

1 Samuel 10:6 (NOG)

When he uttereth his voice, there is a multitude of waters in the heavens; and he causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth: he maketh lightnings with rain, and bringeth forth the wind out of his treasures.” Jeremiah 51:16

Casey Gott states, “WIND allows circulation, allowing me to get oxygen, and are key to air conditioners.

  • Wind is a force to make waves.
  • Wind makes tornadoes.
  • Wind allows rain to get over mountains and be over civilization.
  • Wind can be used as a tool to power things like windmills and give us energy.
  • Wind power sails on boats.
  • Wind can transport things.
  • Wind carries sound and smells, the difference between life and death for prey, and a meal for predators.
  • Wind allows humidity to occur.
  • Wind can be warm or cold.
  • Wind pushes the weather toward or away from your area.
  • Wind allows a greater chance of rain in humid cloudy places.
  • Wind is important to life.
  • Wind is important to the proper function of the earth.
  • Wind is a treasure, this is true both naturally and spiritually.

I’ve always liked the wind. It also recycles itself, and takes pollutants away from an area by transporting them.

When we prophesy, God sends the wind, the breath, and the Spirit.

We often prophesy in services when the wind of the Spirit blows.

We release different words based on which direction the Spirit is moving.

One of the most common ways we experience our miracles and breakthroughs is when the Word and the wind come together. When the wind is blowing, the words released are creative.

Some translations say, prophesy to the breath or spirit. Prophecy (the Word) releases the wind (the Spirit) which causes the dry bones to come alive. Life is the result of the Word and the wind.

Breath is mentioned five times in Ezekiel 37. The breath or wind of God gives us life. When the Word is released, the breath, the wind, and the life of God is released.

The spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life. ” Job 33:4

Jesus spoke of the Holy Spirit as wind.

The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.” John 3:8

You can never tell which way the wind will blow. When we gather in worship, we must discern which way the wind is blowing or the Spirit is moving. We can speak depending on which way the wind is blowing. When the Word and the wind come together, we can expect miracles and breakthroughs.

Pentecost is probably the greatest example of the Word and the wind. The sound from heaven came into the upper room as a rushing mighty wind. Peter preached, and three thousand souls came into the church.

“If you have the Word, but not the Spirit, you will dry up. If you have the Spirit, but not the Word, you will blow up! If you have the Spirit AND the Word, you will grow up.”

We need the Word and the wind. We need churches that preach and teach the Word of God and move in the Spirit.

Ask the Lord for a fresh wind to come upon you.  It’s His treasure stored up for you today.
