There is a set time of favor and promotion! When the set time comes, God moves in powerful ways.
He is the Master of planning and creating divine moments.
It is imperative that you recognize His promotion when it hits your life. Give thanks and praise Him for His divine acceleration. God takes what is seemingly impossible and makes a way.
Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favor her, yea, the set time, is come.”
Psalm 102:13
This set time comes after a time of humility; it can come after a wilderness season.
Zion was humbled by God, but the set time had come to raise up Zion.
This is one thing that Believers must learn. The wilderness is:
- A place of preparation.
- A place of cleansing.
- A time of reflecting.
- A time of pruning.
- A time of refining.
- A time of RE-defining.
Before Jesus came forth in the power of the Spirit, He first faced a wilderness.
The wilderness may be the exact moment before your set time.
Do not grumble and complain in the wilderness. Tune in, listen in, and let the Father teach you. You will come forth with power and wisdom that you did not have before.
Before honor is humility. Honor is promotion and exaltation. Honor is glory.
The fear of the Lord is also connected to humility.
The fear of the Lord is the instruction of wisdom; and before honor is humility.”
Proverbs 15:33
The Lord rewards the humble with wisdom.
Wisdom is a key to promotion. Exalt wisdom, and wisdom will exalt you. Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honor, when thou dost embrace her.”
Proverbs 4:8
Wisdom is connected to humility, and there are great blessings connected to wisdom. Riches and honor are connected to both humility and wisdom. In other words, riches and promotion are connected to humility.
Embrace wisdom. To embrace, in this context, is the act of accepting or supporting enthusiastically. Wisdom will bring you to honor (promotion, exaltation).
By humility and the fear of the Lord are riches, and honor, and life.”
Proverbs 22:4
God gives grace (favor) to the humble.
The set time of favor and promotion is connected to humility
But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the
humble.”
James 4:6
Grace is loving favor, divine help, and assistance. A prominent Old Testament word describing God’s grace is chesed. This word speaks of deliverance from enemies, affliction, or adversity. It also denotes enablement, daily guidance, forgiveness, and preservation.
Humility is the key to greatness.
So many gifted individuals forget about the God who gave them the gift! They become convinced that the greatness came from them. This is deception. The humble man knows that he serves a great God. The humble man knows that it is not the gift that is worthy, but the one who gave the gift.
Perspective is imperative!
The enemy wants to skew the perspective of Believers and get their eyes off of the Father. He wants to twist and pervert their vision, so they come out of humility
and into pride. This is a destructive deception.
Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.”
Matthew 18:4
Through humility, we ascend higher. You must descend before you ascend. Jesus is our example.
You will never know the height of glory until you first know the depth of surrender.
There is something that happens in the surrender that prepares you for the promotion.
Right now you are being prepared for a due season in your life. There is refining. There is cleansing and there are tests.
It takes the Spirit of God to lead and uphold you during the preparation.
- God has not forgotten the many seeds you have sown.
- He has not forgotten the prayers you have prayed.
- He has not forgotten the labor of love that you have given for the Kingdom.
Your promotion is coming through the gateway of surrender and obedience. Let the Lord challenge your heart to love deeper. Let the Lord challenge your heart to know Him more completely. Let the Lord lead you much deeper in the pathway of surrender, then watch as the Father joyfully leads you into breathtaking favor, glory, and promotion!
