It’s Time To Move! 1

Welcome to Impact University!

Your spiritual journey will include migration. A migration is a journey. All believers are on a journey.   To migrate simply means to move from one place to another.

Spiritual migration means to move into new truths and new levels.

Some migrations are physical and geographical. Abram had to migrate to a new land. God told him to migrate. He obeyed the word of the Lord and stepped out in faith.

Some people migrate out of necessity. Others migrate because the Lord tells them to take the journey.

Sometimes the two overlap.

You may be told to move physically as a part of a spiritual migration.

There are some truths and blessings that come with migration. You can either remain stuck in a place spiritually, or you can migrate to something better.

Migration has been a part of my journey over the years. I was saved and spirit filled in a traditional Pentecostal Church. I then began to move in word of faith circles and embraced the teachings of faith, confession, and prosperity. I was then exposed to the message of deliverance. This new message changed my life and ministry. The casting out of demons became an integral part of my life. Afterward I was exposed to the prophetic ministry and prophetic worship. These truths shifted and changed my life dramatically. After this I was exposed to the importance of the apostolic ministry. This was another migration that took me to another level. I was then shifted again to an understanding of the kingdom and correct eschatology. This was another shift that blessed my life tremendously.

In each of these migrations:

  • I had to embrace new truth and revelation.
  • I had to move from the old into the new.
  • It took faith and courage to do so.
  • Everyone I knew did not migrate with me.

I knew the importance of these migrations, and moved when the Spirit of God told me.

I am grateful as I look back over my journey for these migrations prompted by the Holy Spirit.

You have got to know when it’s Time To Move!

“Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee”

Genesis 12:1

Abram was told to leave his country, his kindred, and his father’s house, to a land God would show him. He had to leave the familiar and go to a place that he was unfamiliar with. God had a land for him and his descendants. Abram obeyed the voice of the Lord and left Chaldea.

This migration was initiated by God.

  • You will know when it’s time.
  • God will tell you when to leave.
  •  He will give you clarity.
  • Don’t get stuck!

You cannot receive the blessing of heaven if you stay in the same place.
You have to know when to move, and when to shift.

“So Abram departed, as the Lord had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran.”

Genesis 12:4
  • Migration involves departing.
  • You have to leave the past behind.
  • You have to migrate to your future.
  • Your destiny may require migration.

Haran is the city to which Abram migrated when he left Ur of the Chaldees and where he stayed until his father died before leaving for the promised land.

“And the Lord appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto thy seed will I give this land: and there builded he an altar unto the Lord, who appeared unto him.”

Genesis 12:7

Abram built an altar in the new land. Altars are places of sacrifice and worship. We erect altars when we migrate. Altars are places of consecration and dedication.

We consecrate and dedicate our lives to new truths and revelations.

“And Abram journeyed, going on still toward the south.”

Genesis 12:9
  • A migration is a journey.
  • All of us are on a journey.
  • Some believers stop journeying.
  • Some groups stop journeying.
  • Some denominations and fellowships stop journeying.
  • They stop moving into new truth and understanding.

“Arise, walk through the land in the length of it and in the breadth of it; for I will give it unto thee. Then Abram removed his tent, and came and dwelt in the plain of Mamre, which is in Hebron, and built there an altar unto the Lord.”

Genesis 13:17-18

Abram walked through the land. He claimed the place of his migration. He was a stranger in this land, but by faith walked the all of of it.

You must walk in and claim the new place God brings you into.

I want to encourage you to be obedient to step into this new level of Faith.  Remember, He is with you, and He will release blessings into your new season.
