Time and Chance

I’ve been in the book of Ecclesiastes.

Ecclesiastes 9:11.

“I returned and saw under the sun that—

The race is not to the swift,
Nor the battle to the strong,
Nor bread to the wise,
Nor riches to men of understanding,
Nor favor to men of skill;
But time and chance happen to them all.”

This is an interesting verse, you can be the fastest and not win the race, you can be the strongest and not win the battle.  You can be the wisest and not have prosperity.  You can be a person of understanding and not have riches. You can be skillful and not have favor. Because we are all subject to time and chance

Just because you are the most talented the most skillful, the smartest does not necessarily mean you will end up on top.

There are some biblical principles that lead to success and breakthrough.

Timing is very important.

Sometimes success is based on being at the right place at the right time, or being born at a specific time.

Some people are successful because they are at the right place at the right time. 

Or met the right person at the right time.  

Time and chance.

Timing is very important.

• You can be born at the right place at the right time.
• You can be born into a specific time.
• You can be AT the right place at the right time.
• You can meet the right person at the right time.
• You can take action at the right time.

On the other hand, there are people that are born during an evil time.  Such as during the time of slavery.  When African-Americans were enslaved. Could you imagine the millions of people that never had the opportunities that we have today? They lived enslaved to a system that oppressed them.  They were born during a time when blacks did not have basic human rights.  During that time, it was much more difficult to get ahead or to prosper.  It wasn’t because they didn’t have skill or didn’t have value or didn’t have knowledge. It was simply because they were born during an evil time.

The scripture shows us that sometimes success or breakthrough is not dependent on how much skill you have.  How much talent you have or how smart you are, how strong you are or how fast you are, sometimes it just depends on time and chance.

Chance is opportunity. “

Many people have opportunities that come in their life that give them the ability to break through.  Others many not have the same opportunity or the same chance.

God can give you a particular time that gives you an open door, favor or a unique opportunity.  A  once in a lifetime chance or a chance at life.  A chance for success or a chance for breakthrough. 

When those chances come do you take advantage of them? 

How many people miss the time and miss the opportunity?  They let it go by.  Because you don’t take advantage of it.  Some can be aware of it, but don’t have the faith to step into their time.  Some delay in responding to the opportunities and the delay can lead to missing the time.

How many people are victims of something bad that happens?  A chance that happens in their life, like a car accident, they are a victim of a crime or some other incident.   They happen to be at a place where something happens and their whole life is thrown off course because of an accident. Your whole life can be turned around, distracted or spiral out of control.  You can be at the wrong place at the wrong time and lose your life. 

On the other hand, you can meet the right person, that can release favor and blessings over your life.

Let time and chance work for you and not against you. 

People are successful because they happen to be at the right place at the right time. Many years ago, I had an open door to have a radio show at 5am. I got a chance, and because I took it, my ministry began to grow.  It brought great success to the ministry. I was so thankful for this opportunity. You can’t be puffed up or proud when time and chance works in your favor.
