Worship is a Gateway

Worship is a Gateway 1

Welcome to Impact University.

God desires to release his glory in you in a powerful way in your time of worship.

Worship is a gateway to the glory realm.

When we worship, we experience God’s manifest presence.  The weight of God’s glory comes upon us.

To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary. “

Psalm 63:2

David experienced God’s power and glory in the sanctuary. This is God’s desire for every worshiper.

  • When we gather to worship, we should believe to see the glory of God.
  • God has promised to appear, and we should believe this promise.
  • We should desire and expect to see His glory.

We read in 2 Chronicles 5:13-14 In unison when the trumpeters and the singers were to make themselves heard with one voice to praise and to glorify the Lord, and when they lifted up their voice accompanied by trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and when they praised the Lord saying, ” He indeed is good for His lovingkindness is everlasting,” then the house, the house of the Lord, was filled with a cloud, so that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud, for the glory of the Lord filled the house of God.

Wherever there is worship, there is glory!

As you seek the person of Jesus, His glory will show up and change the atmosphere. Glory people are worship people.

Glory is mentioned in the Bible in two ways:
First, as something that someone possesses, secondly as something that we give to someone, a response of worship.

One of the root words used for glory in the Bible indicates something that is heavy. There is a weighty glory! God’s glory is His weight. When we stand on a scale, we are assigned a number that describes our mass. The number indicates some type of numerical value.

God’s weighty glory expresses His importance, His majesty and His worth.

Glory indicates value!

When we worship God and give Him the glory, we are expressing our gratitude and value for Him.

Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name; worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.

Psalm 29:2

We are instructed to give Him glory as we worship Him!
We express the importance that His presence has in our lives.
When we express His worth, then what He has is imparted to us.

This is a moving from glory (placing value on Him) to glory (His power and majesty being placed within and upon us). The role of the Holy Spirit is to lead us on this daring adventure of glory. We grow and expand in our expression of the Father.

And he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory. “

Exodus 33:18

Moses desired and asked to see God’s glory. The NLV translation says, “I pray to You, show me Your shining-greatness!” The Good News Translation says, “Please, let me see the dazzling light of your presence.” God revealed His glory to Moses. God did not rebuke Moses for asking.

They shall speak of the glory of thy kingdom, and talk of thy power; “

Psalm 145:11

Have you ever experienced the weight of His glory in worship? I’ve often had the weight of God’s glory come upon me so much so that I could not stand, just like the priests in Solomon’s temple.

The Hebrew word kabod denotes weight, as in the weight of His glory. It literally means heaviness, in a good sense. In science it would be the mass of an object of matter. It is the substance of a person or thing, that which has substance or importance of a uniqueness, someone or something that possesses beauty, majesty, splendor.

Kabod also translates as

glorious, glory, honor, honorable, honored, riches, soul, splendid, splendor, and wealth.

It is translated as HONOR 33 times in the KJV

But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, as by the Spirit of the Lord. “

2 Corinthians 3:18

The glory of God is revealed in the expression of the person of Jesus. People from every nation should have this experience. God wants to reveal Himself. He wants to show us His power and His glory.

Our worship gatherings should be glory gatherings.

As you go about your day today, set some time aside to worship the Lord.  Enter into the glory realm that is available to you.  Step into the KABOD!  Seek Jesus, worship Him and you will live in the glory realm.
