Do you consider yourself a MIGHTY man or woman of God? The Holy Spirit is a spirit of MIGHT.
All of us that are full of the Spirit, can operate in this strength, power, ability, insight, wisdom and so on. You have this MIGHT in you. Today, as you read, I want to encourage you to ask the Holy Spirit to reveal it to you and to stir your faith to believe for MIGHT to operate in your life.
Behold, God is mighty, and despiseth not any: he is mighty in strength and wisdom.”
Job 36:5
I was recently preaching on the subject of the strength of the ox. As I concluded the message, I invited people who felt the need for more strength to come to the front for prayer and ministry. As I began to pray, I received a word of knowledge concerning MIGHT. I prayed for MIGHT to come upon believers, that they would have strength and power to accomplish the will of God for their lives. I started to do a study on MIGHT and was astounded at the many references there are on this subject in scripture. There is also the spirit of MIGHT mentioned in Isaiah’s prophecy concerning Jesus the Messiah.
And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord;”
Isaiah 11:2
MIGHT is the Hebrew word gĕbuwrah meaning force, valor, victory, mastery, mighty (act, power), power, strength. The KJV translates this word in the following manner: might, strength, power, mighty acts, mighty, force, mastery.
Another Hebrew word that represents MIGHT is chayil (Strong’s 2428). Chayil means strength, might, efficiency, wealth, army, ability, efficiency, wealth, and force.
The Greek word for MIGHT or power is dunamis. Dunamis means strength, power, ability, inherent power, power residing in a thing by virtue of its nature, or which a person or thing exerts and puts forth power for performing miracles, moral power and excellence of soul, the power and influence which belongs to riches and wealth, power and resources arising from numbers, power consisting in or resting upon armies, forces, hosts. Dunamis is used 120 times in the KJV and is translated power (77x), mighty work (11x), strength (7x), miracle (7x), might (4x), virtue (3x), mighty (2x), miscellaneous (9x). There are other words we will examine to give you a greater understanding of MIGHT.
The Holy Spirit is a spirit of MIGHT. Those who have received the Holy Spirit can operate in the spirit of MIGHT.
MIGHT is also connected to wisdom, counsel, glory, victory, breakthrough, wind, prophecy, miracles, healing, deliverance, preaching, and teaching.
Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.”
Zechariah 4:6
The spirit of MIGHT is not human MIGHT or strength, but the MIGHT that comes from the Holy Spirit. Zechariah prophesied to Zerubbabel that it would be accomplished by the Spirit, and not by human MIGHT. What seemed impossible, would become possible. God uses insignificant people to display His MIGHT and power.
MIGHT is God’s strength!
God is known for strength and is called the MIGHTY GOD (El Gibbor). Jesus is the MIGHTY GOD. (Isaiah 9:6)
The Psalmist asks…
Who is the King of glory? The Lord strong and MIGHTY (Gibbor), The Lord mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, O gates, And lift them up, O ancient doors, That the King of glory may come in! Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, He is the King of glory. Selah.”
Psalm 24:8-10
Gird Thy sword on Thy thigh, O MIGHTY (Gibbor) ONE, In Thy splendor and Thy majesty!”
Psalm 45:3
GOD IS REFERRED TO AS THE MIGHTY ONE OF JACOB
But his bow remained firm, And his arms were agile, From the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob (From there is the Shepherd, the Stone of Israel),”
Genesis 49:24
I pray right now for MIGHT to come upon you!

God has made us all kings and priests.
The spirit of MIGHT operates in kings. The spirit of MIGHT will give you dominion. The spirit of MIGHT will make you a champion! You will walk in MIGHT – you are MIGHTY in God!
